This industrial building is designed for a construction firm that seeks to expand its business in the St. Laurent district of Montreal. Its interior space is divided in a simple manner, placing the customer contact areas and offices at the front, on two levels, and the work and storage areas at the back of the building.
Given the irregular shape of the land, the building is developed over the entire depth of the plot, in parallel with the exterior space dedicated to parking and loading maneuvers. Except for these functions, the entire exterior space is devoted to landscaping and tree planting.
The volume is characterized by its simplicity, which is enhanced by a sober material palette and clear cut lines. The large glazed surfaces recall the image of a commercial building, visually communicating with the public space through its transparency.
Bordering the metropolitan highway, despite its modest size, this new development is strategically placed to stand out against a backdrop of industrial buildings from another era.
